Installation IIS stalls
Hopefully you'll have some suggestions for me. I just bought a new laptop with Windows XP professional. As I want to develop websites I want to install IIS. I went to Software and started to install the needed additional Windows applications.
The installation starts, however stalls half-way. I have let it run for over 60 mins so it is definately not working. It only left me with the option to abort the process (tasklist -> end process). After this it indicated IIS was installed, however none of its functionality was actually available. So I de-installed it and tried to install it again, same problem.... I have already tried to re-install windows, still no luck.... Thanks for the help!! Thomas |

Are you the local computer administrator user? You need to be an administrator to install IIS. Also turn off any firewall and script blocking software prior to installing (if it's safe for you to do so).
