ISS and secure HTTPS: sites

I'm new at ISS. I have created and ASP file and my iexplorer says that it will only accept the database data from a secure https: site. I have set all the iexplorer security to low and set my page as a trusted site, but neither worked.

Can anyone tell me how to make a page https instead of http? In ISS when I select properties of a html file (under the security tab) I see the option for "secure communications" however the buttons beside it are greyed out. Is there something I do to enable these functions??

Thanks for your time... I appreciate the help!!!

Ryan

You need to obtain a certificate and get it installed on your server. There are numerous places to get certificats, like GoDaddy and VeriSign. Once your certificate is installed properly, you use https:// in url's rather than http://

Search around here and google for details, I'm not a certificate expert.

As Doug said you can get a Digital Certificate form one of the certificate authority if you are going to use in a production environment. If you are going to use this in a development or test environment you can create your own certificate using the Certificate services integrated in Windows 2000 or 2003 server. It's very easy to setup and easy to get as many certificates as you want for your testing.
