I don't know this error, every google page about this error I found was in a language other than English.

www.iisfaq.com is one helpful IIS site, maybe there is some help there.

Unfortunately, you have to have IIS installed in order to run asp scripts.

Can you open the IIS management console under, control panel->Administrative Tools->Internet Information Services? Have you checked the processes under the task manager? InetInfo should be one of them. Post back your findings...

Installing IIS on XP is pretty easy.

Log on as administrator user
Go to Control Panel - Add Remove Programs - Add Remove Windows Components
Select IIS as a component to install.

That's all I'v ever had to do, after you install and reboot IIS should be running, and you should be able to open a web browser (on the IIS computer) to http://localhost and get the IIS documentation.

I just had one of my laptops give me some problems with running IIS on Win Xp Pro. You may want to do like i did, if all else fails reinstall the OS so that whatever was messed up can be fixed.
