Lock out
Hi I am new to this ISS 5.1 I have it for windows XP pro SP1 (upgrading to SP2) and a client PC with XP PRO.
On some pages it will act like its loading the webpage but it takes forever! can anyone help me! Here are the server specs (my laptop being the server); 256MB RAM 18.8GB Harddisc 1.3 GHz Processor Windows XP Professional (non OEM) SP1. IIS 5.1 IE 6 Zone Alarm 5.5 (disabled when i am not connected to the internet and disabled when i am the server) Norton Anti Virus 2003 (same as ZONE ALARM) This problem only happens on the Client and the Host pc. ------ Second prob, I have to type a ip address to connect (192.168.1.55) is there anyway of converting it to a host name??? Thanks in Advance, Please Email Me!!

Depends, are you doing in database processing, etc.. on the pages?
You can modify your hosts file and add a host name (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc) to associate with that IP address. Quote:
