Looking to set up server
Hello,
I am very interested in running my own server but am having some problems doing it. I have recently switched from Windows 2000 Server to Windows 2003 Server but am no further ahead. I'd like to set up a server to do the following: - host websites and serve them to the public WWW - support POP3 and/or webmail for these sites (domains) - provide individual usage statistics for each site I have managed to correctly assign DNS and set up multiple websites on IIS5 using headers. I don't know how to configure mail servers though or what software is secure/correct to use? Any insight, including links to other information or knowledgable individuals would be greatly appreciated. My primary reason for doing this is that I own and operate about a dozen small websites and would like to administer them all on my machine without paying for individual hosting accounts. Thanks for any information. |

If you search google there are many more good tutorials on running your own server. You should be very aware of security, patches, etc., one slip and your server gets hacked and your customers go elsewhere ...
