Machine Name Change
Is there something special you need to do in IIS when changing a machine name. We're getting some very strange behavior on a build machine that we changed the name of.
Thanks, Eric |

What kind of behavior?
The only time I myself worry about a machine name change is if I am setting up extra security on a web application that uses the mac address and machine name as part of the encrytion key. Zath |

IIS shouldn't be sensitive to a computer name change, unless you have some users on a LAN that are accessing the web server using http://<servername> instead of by IP or domain name.
MS SQL Server is sensitive to a name change, you have to do something to get the db server running again after the computer name is changed. There may be other files and programs scattered around that have the old name embedded, like old lmhosts files and such.
