Question Multiple domain names on a single IP address

Hello everyone.
Im running a dedicated server with Windows XP Pro, IIS 5.1.
I have 2 domain names and would like to bind those two with an A record, meaning I don't want to use forwarding.
I'm kind of new at this area, since I suppose there'll be DNSs involved?
I'm sorry if this thread has been posted else where.

Anyone who can help me with this?

Sincerely
//Seeker

If you're talking about IIS on XP Pro, you can only have one website. If both your domain names resolve to the same IP of your computer you can access your web using either domain name.

If you have a server version of Windows you can set up multiple websites on different IP's or host headers on one IP to keep the two domains separate.

Any Microsoft Server OS like Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2000 Server

If you're not married to IIS you could look at Apache. I don't use Apache on windows but on linux you can set up virtual hosts on a single IP. You loose ASP if you go with Apache.

Apache doesn't process asp pages, at least not asp pages with vbscript. There is an apache::asp module but afaik it has limited scripting language support. Without vbscript support, 90% or more of your downloadable asp apps won't work.

u can use the help/documentation of IIS 5.0. Type "localhost" in ur browser window and there will two windows. on contain welcome message and other contain documentation. in that go to "administration" --> "server administration" --> " name resolution" .
i hope this will solve ur problem.
