PHP Issues on IIS
I just took over an IIS server that is running cpgNuke. I want to change over to wordpress and downloaded/copied it working directly on the machine itself.
The problem is when I went to run the install php file I couldn't access it (page not found error). I then went created a .txt file and put it in the same directory. I accessed that txt successfully and immediately after that was able to run the first page of the install process. Trying to go to the second page didnt work though. I then (in another tab) refreshed the txt file and came back and tried to go to the second step and it worked. I kept repeating this process to finish the install, and things are still messed up. Was hoping this was just some setting... Please help!! Side note: There is a completely active and working cpgNuke install with all its php files that work fine. I sat there for a while comparing property windows of "ok" and "not ok" files and could not seem to figure out any differences... Thanks in advance for any help! - vokin |

If you take the time to post the actual error messages you'll have better luck getting a reply.

there were no error message... simply a "page does not exist" in the browser... i think i solved the problem though.
by running the "permissions wizard" on the new directory the files now all work. not sure what this changed as going to properties all the check boxes/options are exactly the same as before, but apprently the wizard just checks them better than i do.. thanks, vokin |

Often these kinds of problems are caused by incorrect permission settings on files/folders.
I'm glad you got it worked out. |
