Does anyone know if they play nice together? I have had several requests for me to take over websites that were developed in php with a MySQL back end, but I am strictly a Windows Server house running IIS. Are they compatible or do I need to bring in some Apache servers and php professionals?

They can both run under the same server as long as they don't share the same port.
By default, both will try to use port 80. You can install apache on your server and assign it a different port number.

I can say that php 5, mysql 5 and IIS 5.x have no problems working together, they all work quite nicely in a windows environment. There is documentation at the php and mysql websites that describe how to install the software.
