Possibly change IIS settings.
I am having adobe acrobat reader. Therefore, I can view pdf files.
I want my users to view pdf files through my application which uses IIS and stored only in wwwroot. Therefore, using http:\\localhost\...... path, I should be able to see. The path is correct since, I am able to access the index.php page. But I could not see the pdf file when I clicked a link. Link's path is also correct. To test it simply, I simply just stored the pdf file on the localhost directory. When I typed http://localhost/1234.pdf, the pdf file did not appear. Therefore, I think it has to do something with IIS settings. Can you please tell me what changes in the IIS settings do I have to make? |

I think it's not coming up because you need to install a virtual directory. You can do this by going to your admin. tools and then Internet Services Manager. Right click on "Default Web Site" and create a new virtual directory. Then just place the pdf in the folder you set up as the directory.

I have now created a virtual directory. The path is correct since I am able to access Index.php page. Still I could not access a pdf file through the application. If it is not do with IIS settings, could it have to do with Internet Explorer 6.0 (I am using it) settings? It is a brand new computer. Can anyone please help me on this matter?

you must have the Acrobat Reader installed on the client machine to be able to view it. having it on the server won't do any good.
