Hi,people.Currently i am having some problems accessing asp pages locally.Coding wise i have no problem as the asp pages shows no signs of problems when i tested it out during my school's labs.Prior installing SP2,i could view the asp pages locally. That's changed after i installed SP2.
I'll tried directly opening the asp page on IE by right clicking it,the only thing the broswer shows is my asp codes(Printing out the codes i mean),not the contents.I have no problem with HTML file thou.Does it concern my IE setting(activeX etc) or my IIS? I could view my HTML pages on "http://localhost/myweb/filename.html" for example.Currently running on Win Pro with SP2. Any Help is appreciated. Thanks people. |

There are known issues with SP2.
Go to Microsofts website for a complete list of problems associated with SP2. |

Getting any assistance with SP2 issues is going to be very hard. We have even recommended to our clients, not to install it until all the bugs are fixed.
There may not be a fix for your issue, and unfortunately SP2 can't be uninstalled. |

If you installed sp2 on the computer with IIS, you probably need to open the windows firewall for port 80. I have sp2 on a Windows Media Center with IIS, and all I had to do was open the port in the firewall. Otherwise I've had no problems with SP2 on the boxes I've updated.

If you're still trying to work out problems between DW MX and XP SP2, check out this tech note on Macromedia's page

Thanks Doug! Turning off XP's firewall got my intranet working again. I had the same problem when I upgraded my server to SP-2. I'll look into better refinement next (e.g. managing ports).

Open the firewall control panel mmc, and click the Exceptions tab. There you can open ports or programs. For IIS without ssl all I opened was port 80. |
