Hi,
I'm new to IIS and would appreciate help with a problem I am having. I'm trying to set up IPP internet printing using IIS so am currently trying to access the Default Web Site using my browser. I am having problems setting up the authentications. I have set the authentication type as 'anonymous access'. I have specified my own password as I was getting a http 500 message when the 'allow IIS to control password' checkbox was ticked. However when I go to the browser and try and access the Default Web Site, I get a 'you are not authorised to view this page' message (http 403). Any ideas on what I need to do to get Anonymous Access working? Cheers, Cormac |

Normally you allow IIS to control the password for the Internet Guest account. Your own password will not work, unless you gave your password to the Internet Guest account.
Reset the passwords for the IUSR_computername user account. Search msdn, I seem to recall there is a tool that resets IIS passwords.

Let IIS Manage the guest account password. Make sure that the Folder which you specified for the default website has IUSER_MachineName have atleast Read Access in the NTFS Permissions.
