Check that the WWW service is running. Go to the Administrative Tools - Services and look at the World Wide Web publishing service status.

Maybe you were not the administrator user the first time you installed IIS. I installed IIS on W2K one time as a normal user and the only cure I found was to uninstall and reinstall when logged in as administrator.

Hi all, I'm having the same problem with sunnyloke too. But I can't seem to get it working even if I uninstall - reinstall my IIS.. My problem doesn't occur after I online - it just died suddenly. The other day it was still ok. Help anyone?

Edit: IIS Admin and WWW services were running.. And I still can't execute my ASP files.

Thanks!

Til now i dont know what my problem is. I think is my window XP is not stable. because the IIS will hault sometime after I had need to restart the computer with the scanning. I had uninstall and reinstall for many times. But it work for me.. Perhaps your problem is because you are not the administrator of the computer? Or do you put your folder under the IIS?

Unhappy

another weird one here. I have changed some settings after I corrected an IP address of one site. Now ASP will not work. HTML does so the service is running and the sites work untill I call an ASP page, even with no code on it, it just hangs.

No errors are reported or events logged.

I've restarted the service, IIS, the site the box, nothing...

What else can I do? Reinstall everything is a bit drastic for what must be a setting somewhere that's changed.

Unhappy Fixed

IIS just needed to be restarted about 4 times.

One thing I changed (could it have had an effect) was having the default application set to the all unassigned address, which I had changed due to IP issues to the IP of the machine. When reverted and restarted 4 times it worked....

It makes it difficult when logic doesn't seem to work. Is there a ghost in the machine???
