Server Application Error - URGENT

Since today my IIS 5.0 reports an error whenever I run a .asp page. The exact error is

Server Application Error
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance.

I've installed many webservers but I never hat such a problem. Even reinstalling the IIS did not help. To the server: Windows 2000 SP4, Active Directory with one domain, one virtual site "intranet".

- Under security settings on c:\ only "SYSTEM" and the user "Administrator" hat the right to access files. In the folder Inetpub\intranet\*.* also IUSER_Webserver (the name of my server) has full rights.

- When I now start an .asp file from one of my clients (http://webserver/intranet/index.asp) I get a login screen though I set "allow anonymus login". When I start the file from the server itself i get the error above. Bute when I set application protection to "low" I can access the file from the server when I'm logged in as Administrator. but when I login from the client I get a login screen and only if I login as Administrator I get acces. But this cannot be right.

- only .asp files are affected.

So what can be wrong, perhaps there are not enough access rights but which files or folders have to be accessed by IIS?

Pleasy help soon, at the moment I cannot work and it's the same with my withworkers.

Kind regards,
Stefan

It was about:
The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/Root/intranet'

I can tell you the exact error tomorrow when I'm at work again.

SBS supports IIS fine on a single server, I don't think this is a problem, but I'd try use a separate server for IIS if possible.
