Server not detected via Visual Interdev

Hi,

Currently I had a problem accessing to my ASP application via the Visual Interdev development environment. The problem is that Interdev can't seems to find my server when I try to open a the project file. I'm completely new to IIS and I'm sure this have something to do with it.

Any form of help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In my company, we are using Microsoft Visual Interdev as the development environment for ASP. We are working fine all the while until recently we met up with some error in IIS that needs to be reinstalled. After the installation, we couldn't connect to the applications. It keeps returning the IP of the webserver is not found...

Is there any setting of the IIS dealing with the web server's IP?

Interdev needs the FrontPage Server Extensions installed on the server.

But Interdev is outdated and depreciated by Microsoft. You really should be looking at something more modern, like Macromedia's Dreamweaver MX (MX2004 is horrid, don't use it) or Visual Studio (2005 has an amazing HTML editor that blows Dreamweaver out of the water)

However, I already have the Frontpage Server Extension installed and it's still not working fine. Is there any setting that I should look into?

What version of IIS, FPSE, and InterDev are you using?

If you have frontpage try connecting to the IIS server with FP.

Verify your IIS server is working before trying to use Interdev with the web server.

If you are trying to open a project file that pre-dated whatever the problem was that caused the IIS reinstall, perhaps the web structure of the reinstalled web server doesn't match the old project file. Try creating a new project from some existing web.
