Setting write permissions (gallery2)
hi all,
trying to do an install of gallery2 on my IIS box.. i was having read access issues to the server of anything new i added (even though files had read access set) but was able to solve that by running the "permissions wizard" on the new directory. now though, i need to make a folder that has write access for the gallery to store its files in. it suggests putting one above wwwroot, which i tried to do and then share to IIS, but that didnt work (gallery said folder did not exist), and then i tried to put one inside wwwroot which gallery was able to see, but even if the "write" box was checked in properties, gallery couldnt write to it... where am i going wrong here? (the permissions wizard was no help here) |

I usually use windows explorer to set write permissions. You need to grant write to the IUSR_computername user account which is the account used by IIS to service anonymous internet browsers.
