SiteServer
I'm having problems installing siteserver on a Windows 2000 server.
Right now there are many error but here are some of the important ones. The DERuntime object gives an error when the page tries to create an instance of it. I get "The call to Server.CreateObject failed while checking permissions. Access is denied to this object." I'm using the object to connect to databases and I'm not sure if it is using the LDAP service which I created or one of the connection strings in the global.asa file. Is it the DERuntime object that is having the problem or the database connection that is being denied? Would appreciate anything anyone knows about this DERuntime object. |

I've never used site server, but your errors make it sound like you have a permissions problem of some kind, were you an administrator when you tried the install?

I finally did discover that after applying Service Pack 3 to the server that we have to reregister the dll files for this component. Then we found out that we don't in fact have the correct priviliges to the database. Hopefully in the next couple of hours this will all be fixed. Thanks for the response. |
