SMTP in IIS canot be start
Hie...
My SMTP service is down after i try restarting it. Using Win2K Server. After stopping my SMTP service in IIS. I can't start it and i get this error "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" Under my Event Viewer, i got this: "The service could not bind instance 1" After googling... some site said need new service pack. some said change some parameter. But is too risky to just change anything... Any advise for anyone? My IIS is working fine, my web is OK... just the SMTP problem. ![]() |

Restarting your IIS server on a busy shared host is certainly not the first thing to try, unless you don't mind a bunch of customer complaints about the flakey hosting company.
