"The parameter is incorrect" error
I am developing some ASP's that execute SQL statements. Sometimes I call and ASP that has a wrong SQL (for eg: SQL statement that queries a non-existent table). This happens during testing and IIS stops responding. When I try to restart it i get the "The parameter is incorrect" message. I cannot also shutdown the server. I get a message - "The requested control is not valid for this service". I also tried restarting IIS thru the command iisreset, but to no avail.
The only way to get IIS back up and running is to restart my system. This is very tiring. Anybdy knw hw to deal with this?? |

Look in the server event log and the iis logs, maybe there is some clue in one of those spots.

The IIS server logs dont' show any unusual reports. No error messages or anything.
As for the eventvwr, which log do I have to check? Application, Security, System ?? And I can find nothin substantial in it. Is there any keyword I should look for? |

I would guess in the system area is where you'd find something. Look for any events related to the www publishing service, or asp
