On IIS, we right click on websites to create a [new website]... it that like the same thing as virtual directory on apache? Like what i basically want to do is figure out how to create a link on the apache server to [connect] to the root directory.... i think im asking this incorrectly so if you understand me somewhat try to restate it in whichever way u interpreted it. thanks. sighs*

Just to make suer i understand you correctly, are you trying to have like www.youdomain.com/somthing but not have the "somthing" dir in the root dir.? so its called from a diffrent place, and anyone looking at your root, cant see that folder in there right?
