Virtual Directory redirect to other server
I have a virtual directory set up on my main web server pointing as a redirect to another server. (This is in IIS 6.0 btw)
So, if the main site is www.whatever.com and the virtual directory is configured to get content from a redirection to a URL of http://10.x.x.x, then I'm expecting a link to http://www.whatever.com/virtualDirectory/ to redirect the user to http://10.x.x.x The landing document is default.asp and is configured in the Documents tab in IIS for the virtual directory. There is (currently) no security preventing connection between the machines -- in other words, I can surf directly to 10.x.x.x from the whatever.com server by typing the IP into a browser. Am I doing something wrong? It seems so straight-forward. Thanks for any help! |

I don't know IIS6, sorry. Maybe someone will get an idea if you describe exactly what happens when your browser hits the url, what entries are made in the log files, etc.
