Weird IIS 5.0 behaviour

Hey folks,

Okay, check this one out, I encountered it once before under IIS 3.0 but this is the first time on IIS 4.0 or higher...

I am running Windows 2000 Advanced (a recent and expensive but worthwhile upgrade) with IIS 5.0 (default)

I used the Host Headers 'cheat' (with dyndns.org 'domains') to allow multiple sites on a single IP so that I cna allow my clients to preview sites prior to uploading them to thier chosen web hoster.

Now, my problem is this..

Any site that is pure HTML with no ASP files or content displays perfectly, example... URL However, if a site has an asp page or pages then it spits out a DNS error (not a 404 or 500 it simple fails to resolve the server at all) such as URL All sites have the same settings (aside form the host headers), namely read, script execute, annonymous, port 80 etc etc.

Any ideas as to why IIS is being a buttmunch over this?

Btw, the same sites work fine if I call thru localhost, and the Default Website is stopped, so that's not causing any clashes.

email me or reply if you can shed some light on this subject, thanks.

Problem solved, it was a simple DNS table problem, just by fluke that it was ASP content sites that were affected.

Thanks to anyone who was prepared to assist though.
