Windows XP Pro IIS5.1 Bug

newbie here so please be gentle

been fighting with my IIS as the virtual directories I create kept dissapearing. I could see them if I used MEta Edit 2.2 from MS but could not access them using the IIS manager.

On Microsoft site it says its a bug and to contact them for a fix, but typicall as its a dell laptop they tell you where to go and contact DELL first as its OEM as if they will be able to help

has anyone got this fix or know what to do in order to remedy this issue

thank you

I don't have this problem on a Dell laptop. Maybe you have some other permission or firewall issue.

Microsoft introduced AdminACLs in IIS 5.1 and IIS 6.0. If you use Meta Explorer which you can get here:

IIS 6.0 Resource Kit you may wonder if IIS 6.0 Resource Kit will work on XP, I have tested it and seems to work just fine.
