XP Pro IIS 5.1: Only host can connect.

My login is computer administrator
Norton Personal Firewall Installed
XP Firewall Disabled

I have had a problem with my IIS lately. Before I formated it ran fine and allowed other people to connect and view the pages even with my firewall running. Now nobody but me and my network users can connect to the page. I had a friend try to ping my IP with the firewall up on port 80 and he couldn't I turned it off and he could. But he cannot view the page in his browser even when the firewall is off. I have tried rebooting without the firewall stating up on boot and same thing. Any help would be great! Thanks alot.

Ping doesn't test that port 80 is open, just that icmp works to the target ip.

You could try telnet to port 80 and verify you get a http server response.

My guess is still a firewall problem blocking http.

Alright, I tried telnet on port 80 but got could not open connection to host. I tried both with the firewall on and off and recieved connection failed for both of them. I also tried booting without the firewall loading on startup and recieved the same thing.

Keep looking, something is blocking your http port, and if you can access the web internally the web server is apparently working.

Perhaps your isp is blocking port 80, some do to prevent users from running web servers on their connection.
