backing up database

i am currently new to this database thing..

i have a qns to ask.. how can we back up the database... i am using ms sql server...

1) do i use the options available? like creating the maintainance plan? or do i have to code it ??

2) can i do a auto restore or must i always manually restore shd the database fail??

i have already read tat... but there is a way to backup the database in ms sql instead of coding it rite?

like using the maintainence plan?

dun have to realli code it like wat the url u send me says ritE??

am i wrong? pls correct me???
