Database Maintanance
The LDF file has gotten HUGE!. How do i fix this?

1) Have your DBA do this.
2) If you don't have a DBA see below, but only do this when there is little to no traffic hitting the database. 1) Do a complete backup of the database. 2) Open query analyzer and enter the following command Quote:
3) In enterprise manager do the following a) Right click the database b) select "all tasks" c) select "shrink database" d) click the "files" button at bottom left e) select the database log in the dropdown f) click ok do this only when there is little traffic hitting the database or you could loose you information. |

Thanks. Unfortunately I am the admin for this server. I know enough to keep it running but that is about it.
