DTS Package Scheduled Job Fails

Hi all,

im quite new to DTS Packages,
I wrote a very simple package, the problem is, it runs fine in
the EM, but when I schedule it, it gives me an error message.
I am not certain what the error is, because all I get is this:

"The job failed. The job was invoked by Schedule 8. The last step to
run was step 1."

I have attached a 'print screen' of the error message.

If anyone can assist me, it would be apreciated.

What does step 1 do?
When you execute the package manually are you running it from the Server the that the SQL server is installed on or are you running if from your local machine in Enterprise manager?

Right click the DTS package in the database and select Package Logs, review the logs to find out exactly why it failed.

i was running it of my localworkstation and did not have the required privelages.

hi, I'm having the same problem, but I don't know hot to fix it, I am running some
jobs, but it says "does not have server access", I tryied usin "sa" instead of "SERVER\Administrator"
but whe I execute the job does not excecute.

packages need to run as the system account, otherwise they'll only run when the administrator is logged in.
