SQL Server 2000 - Error installing SQL Serv 2000 on Win Server 2003 Enterprise Edition

Hello,

I'm trying to install SQL Server 2000 on a Windows 2003 Enterprise edition, I followed the instruction on the screen and once the installation reaches 100% I'm getting the following error:

Setup

A Service Control Operation failed for the MSSQLServer service:5
Access is denied.

Can anyone help me out with this. Thanks in advance

Error installing SQL Serv 2000 on Win Server 2003 Enterprise Edition

did you complete the sql install?

as this is a known issue. the problem is that W2003 server has a different install procedure for the DLL's from SQL 2000. Install the latest SQL service pack and it should sort it out.
