Hi all, please any kind hearted expert advise me of how to solve this problem...
I tried to install SQL server 2000 on my window XP ...during the services accounts i checked on the "use a domain user account" and keyed in my Window administrator account Username and password but the SQL server installation gave me this error ....... " The logon account cannot be validated for the SQL server service. Verify that the user name and password entered are correct. The logon attempt failed." I wish to use the windows logon account for the SQL service account in this installation for better tracking and loggin activity.. and other services such as mail..etc. regards dummy |

You cannot install SQL Server Enterprise, or Standard Edition on Windows XP. You can however install SQL Developer Edition, and SQL Evaluation edition.
Here is a link to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 requirements. http://www.microsoft.com/sql/evaluation/sysreqs/2000/default.asp |
