How do I convert Access into SQL DB

Hi <br><br>I am running a website driven by a database. Its an Acess 2000 DB. It obviously isnt powerful enough as i am getting errors about connections etc & am told its because there are too many hits for access to cope with. <br><br>How do i switch to SQL or MY SQL. <br><br>Is it easy ???<br><br>Can i convert. Will SQL import tables & data from access ??? <br><br>Is it expensive. MY SQL is free right ??? how do i get it ???/ so many questions. <img border="0" src="/forum/emoticons/confused.gif" height="22" width="15" alt="confused" /> <img border="0" src="/forum/emoticons/confused.gif" height="22" width="15" alt="confused" /> <img border="0" src="/forum/emoticons/confused.gif" height="22" width="15" alt="confused" /> <img border="0" src="/forum/emoticons/smilewinkgrin.gif" height="15" width="15" alt="smilewinkgrin" /> <img border="0" src="/forum/emoticons/smilewinkgrin.gif" height="15" width="15" alt="smilewinkgrin" />

MS SQL : Costs money, can convert your database easy.<br>mySQL : Free (depending on use, check the license), you'll have to export the data to something that mySQL can read for import, like a delimited text file. You'd also have to create the tables manually.<p><hr size="1" width="50%" align="left" />dotNetBB Forum Developer<br><b><i>Building A Better Community, One Post At A Time</i></b><br><a href="http://www.dotnetbb.com" target="_blank">www.dotnetbb.com</a></p>

MS SQL you have to buy.<br><br>You can also use <a href="http://www.asp.net/msde/default.aspx?tabindex=0&tabid=1" target="_blank">MSDE</a> for free (its the SQL server engine), but there isn't a GUI like Enterprise Manager that comes with MS SQL. You have to use commandline or third party tools with it like <a href="http://www.casestudio.com/enu/bonus.aspx" target="_blank">CuteSQL</a>.<p><hr size="1" width="50%" align="left" />dotNetBB Forum Developer<br><b><i>Building A Better Community, One Post At A Time</i></b><br><a href="http://www.dotnetbb.com" target="_blank">www.dotnetbb.com</a></p>

you also need to install myODBC for mySQL, after installing you should be able to find the correct exe file in the install folder, default I think is c:\mysql and I think the exe is mysqladmin.exe. mySQL also has it's own command prompt window but there is also a frontend you could download called mySQL Control Center which may help. Sope this helps but its coming from memory, haven't used mySQL in quite awhile.
