SQL ms Access XP performance
have ms access adp project which connects to sql 2k db on 2k computer (1 gig)
two client computers 1-2k 1-XP 2k ~400mhz XP ~1.3mhz until recently both were working fine, now the XP takes a long time for the record count ~35000 to come up when opening the ms access adp, Especially if try to perform a filter on the db, may or maynot actually finish doing it. updated both xp & sql to sp3a, tried monitoring performance montior on both machines at same time, seems to be after the XP has received the records. Ran the reporting utility, but haven't dug into it yet. |

the db is on a win 2k, win2k and xp SUCK at neworking with each other, its just reality
if you want it to run well on xp, use xp server, but then the 2000 will suck ^^ you could also try 2003 for the server, that should result in an average preformance for both 2k and xp machines |
