Hi folks.
I've ecently buid an application with an Access database as data provider. Recently i had some performance problems, so i upsized it to SQL server. The problem is that it is to big for small businesses, so MSDE should be a good alternative. But there i miss the simple tools to manage this database (for example i cant backup and restore the database from a regular SQL server en also i found a lot of temp databases inside which i want to get rid of.) Any advice/guidance would be very appreciated. Thanxxx |

You can do pretty much everything in MSDE that you can in SQL Server, including database backups, etc. Since you have no GUI interface like Enterprise Manager, you need to get familiar with the numerous sp's in the database, and how to use the command line OSQL program, which is pretty much a text-based Query Analyzer.
