can windows media player read Japanese song titles properly?
Hi
When I pop a Japanese cd in my computer the song titles come out as gibberish (actually it comes out as those annoying small squares), and I can't seem to find any place where I can change the encoding. Does anybody know how to do this? I'm using Windows Media Player version 10. |

Hi,
The only thing that you probally can do is buy a Jappanese computer, because amarican computers are toooooooooooo stupid to know other languages. It sucks, but what can you do. ![]() |

wrong
I can't believe that nobody has corrected blazie in all this time. Seeing as this page ranks very high in a google search I've had to register just to clean this mess up!
The short and skinny answer to the OP's question is yes you can install multi language support. Due to the forum rules I can't post a direct link so... Do a google search for "install east asian language support". The first two links will give you detailed instructions on setting it all up. The 'gibberish' is not just boxes by the way. They're actual characters that Windows is just not able to display because the language pack isn't installed. Once you've installed support using this method, any other program that would require the languages you've installed will automatically work (including WMP). Now your "stupid American computer" can display anything that you wish to see. |
