Flash video help (.flv)

Hi,

I've been trying to get a video to work via flash. I have converted it all using Flash pro 8's converter. When i view it on the computer it works great but when i upload it it doesn't work at all, all i get is a white page.

Has anyone else had this?

If this is any help i have it in folder on my site eg:

http://mywebsitename.com/video/test.swf

Flash works fine on my server as my website banner is flash.

Any help would be great thanks

Joe

Hi again,

I have now managed to get it working(i had to add the .flv to the mime type) but i now have another problem.

I have my video on my site and the .flv file is big (about 10 mb) the trouble is that if i have to upload this for each video its going to take up alot of space!

So is there away of using just one .flv file and have the videos linking to that?

Many thanks

Joe

No. You need a separate SWF and FLV for each video.

You will find that .flv cannot be embedded directly to web page, you must make a .swf file to hold the .flv file. I think this is the key point.
