Not unless you seriously want to annoy the site visitor.... background music is discouraged, why do you want it anyway?

The only way to keep music playing (shudders), is to either have it in a frame or open a popup window

I opt for the latter, as it gives the site visitor a chance to stop the music.

Preferably, put the music in a Flash file, rather than the <bgsound> or <embed> elements, as this allows FlashBlock to prevent you from driving me crazy

"Web Standards Man" is correct in most instances. However, I will concede that SOMETIMES music is an important part of a design. Especially if the site is artistically oriented. To do this you could use javasript to pop another window behind with the music imbedded in it. If you do this, I recommend letting the user know what you are doing, and give them an easy way to opt out. If you set this to automatically start everytime you load your homepage, you will probably find that people visit your site less often...because many people WILL find it annoying.

Cool

Hey i agree with Banker coz not all the visitors to website can afford to load music while visiting the site so give visitors clear-cut indication that music is being loaded and give clear option to stop it on demand.
