That's kind of a rough poll....

I love PSP but Photoshop does it all ... and does it all well. I feel like I have more control with filters and lighting with Photoshop...

Good poll!

I'm no graphic designer. I find both programs extremely unobvious with their functions. I do like both programs, but as I have inherited these programs from work, with no manuals, I guess it makes it difficult to learn. I find PSP slightly easier to use. Photoshop is the better program though and seems to be a favourite among graphic designers.

Cool Paintshop vs. Photoshop

Paintshop is geared more towards the simple off the shelf consumer both price range and function wise. While photoshop seems to be geared more toward the proffessional designer. Both programs have features that the other does not. Paintshop for instance has the ability to do a damn good job cleainign up pictures and images. Photoshop on the the other hand does a damn good job a creating images. Paintshop though geared for the off the shelf consumer is still a powerful program and much more easier to use than photoshop. Photoshop is probably the best, but most expensive graphic design program right now. If you are going to be a graphic artist than get photoshop other wise stick with paintshop and still have some money left over.

Just my two cents

Great Question!

Photoshop rules. I also use Macromedia's Fireworks for quick development of basic web graphics. There are some things you just can't do with anything else except Photoshop though.

Each applications have their own virtues and ideal uses

Corel's Painter = Digital Paint/Airbrush art
Adobe's Photoshop = Photo Manipulation/Web UI creation
Adobe's Photoshop Elements = Photo Manipulation
Jasc's PaintShopPro = Basic Photo manipulation
Microsoft's PhotoDraw = People who use MS Publisher
GNU's TheGIMP = Suited to software developers, good for creating icons and that sort of stuff (GNU developers mainly... VisualStudio has its own image editor built-in)
Macromedia's Fireworks = RAD / Prototype website design, I don't recommend it for creating the final code... Tables are BAAAD, m'kay?
