Frame nav menus

Originally posted by : Greg (greg_tebbutt@hotmail.com)
On the framed/no frames foldertree nav bar, it says that it can be easily configured to work as a framed navigation bar, i am quite a compitent website designer but i cant find any way to update one frame using the foldertree and not have to refresh the tree itself.

With all respect if you are finding your original problem hard to fix, then going towards using DHTML is going to make things more complicated.

As an alternative try looking into using DIVs as you can hide and how elemens of your choice without refreshing pages.

As a last alternative look into iFrames so that the whole menu structure is contained within an iFrame (obviously comoes with its own pro's and con's). Then only the iFrame needs to be refreshed as apposed to the whole Frame itself.

Sorry, there's no straight forward answer

Rgds

------------
Greg at 5/23/2001 4:29:09 PM

On the framed/no frames foldertree nav bar, it says that it can be easily configured to work as a framed navigation bar, i am quite a compitent website designer but i cant find any way to update one frame using the foldertree and not have to refresh the tree itself.
