James.
U faced a sitiuation that was exactly opposite to the one faced by me.I Had Working In VB an SQl Server For almost 2 years and wanted a break in ASP ( Net Related Platforms)but the recruiters demanded that i should have worked on some sites.
However once i got the break the transition was very easy. It's true that If u learn VB half of the work is done b'cos vbscriot is nothing but a subset of VB. If u aim to make a future in Microsoft related platforms u should stess more importance on COM and MTS for they will be the ones that will be used extensively over the years whether ASP Stays or Not. i would also suggest u to gain some hand on experience on Database i.e if u haven't yet. Say SQl Server or Oracle as Database is an inevitable part of any E-commerce Related Projects.
I hope I am anot Confusing U.

Bye ..
------------
James at 10/29/2000 9:55:33 AM

I recently went hunting for a job in ASP. Almost all the recruiters said I needed VB. Can someone tell how much of VB I need to know? Can I get by just learning the Active X Com Object stuff or do I need to learn all of VB?

Thanks for your help!
