To upgrade from win98 to win2kpro or not?
Originally posted by : David (ad02001@yahoo.com)My objective is to install and use Windows2000Pro for asp.net development purposes.I now run Windows 98 and have a Win2000Pro upgrade CD.It would be much appreciated if any knowledgeable person reading this could inform me as to just how well founded are my reservations concerning an UPGRADE from Win98 to Win2000Pro. Any advice from good or bad experiences would be very helpful and appreciated. Since I only use one computer, I am concerned not to throw my present system into disarray.I also considered that it could be best to do away with win98 altogether and avoid potential complications by just obtaining a copy of win2kpro (not an upgrade) and installing it from scratch. Any advice? Thanks a lotDavid

I'd do it, win98 is a kids OS, win2k/XP is for those who want to grow up and do .NET.------------David at 8/24/2001 12:50:36 PMMy objective is to install and use Windows2000Pro for asp.net development purposes.I now run Windows 98 and have a Win2000Pro upgrade CD.It would be much appreciated if any knowledgeable person reading this could inform me as to just how well founded are my reservations concerning an UPGRADE from Win98 to Win2000Pro.
