Web Server in Pocket Pc 2002
Originally posted by : Sriram Gopalan (bearguru@hotmail.com)

I have a PDA with Pocket PC 2002. I installed web server from the latest SDK for Pocket Pc 2002 that I got from Microsoft's site.

Then I tried running asp or asp.net pages in the same way as I normally would from IIS. Unfortunately, the page doesn't get loaded. My Pocket Pc web server doesn't recognize vb script. I know, I am missing something (while installing from SDK) because normal html pages work fine from the Pocket Pc web server.

I will appreciate if anyone can help me in making my Pocket Pc 2002 act as a web server so that I can run applications written in asp or asp.net. I am wondering if web server from SDK is capapble of supporting server side script or is it just a 'http server' for html files. I know there are commercial web servers available for Pocket PC but I am interested in the web server that Microsoft has incorporated in its SDK.

May be it has to do something with the Internet Explorer that Pocket PC supports. I read a white paper on Pocket Internet Explorer for PDA but I don't think there is a version available for download.

Any information on above issues will be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,
GS.

Consult with the Microsoft developer web site for Pocket PC 2002.

------------
Sriram Gopalan at 4/9/2002 2:36:24 PM

I have a PDA with Pocket PC 2002.
