A new College Graduate Seeking Full Time job in U.S.
I am currently a student at Essex University graduating in June looking for a job in U.S. preferably in California. I am a permanant resident in U.S. My main goal is to gain valuable experience.
I studied Computer Science at UC Irvine for two years and for my junior year, I was offered the chance to study in England. I took this opportunity as I felt that it would broaden my overall awareness of my subject and allow me to experience a different type of teaching in the same field. I completed a year at Essex University and felt that I had greatly benefited from my studying there and I made the decision to remain in England and complete my degree. Studying in England meant that I had to be ready to accept new ideas and methods, and this included being able to work alongside people who had different values and attitudes towards work. These experiences have consequently made me more of a team player. My experiences have meant that I can easily adapt to new situations and challenges put to me.
During the summer of 2003 I interned at Virtual Internet, a web hosting company in London. I was unfamiliar with many of the programming languages that they used at the company and it was essential that I learned quickly and efficiently to adapt to both my new surroundings and my employers expectations. I applied my new found skills when working and by the end of my internship I was proficient programming in Perl and learned a great deal about networks and Unix applications.
I am confident that I'll be able to apply my skills in any environment and be an asset in any situations.
