We are rapidly expanding both our customer and supplier base and therefore building our own IT infrastructure to automate and streamline our operations for minimum human interaction.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced developer with Application Development abilities. Candidate should be able to debug existing code, create, maintain, monitor, performance tune, & trouble shoot integrated applications. Candidate should be able to create, maintain and optimize SQL Server based databases. Candidate is also expected to set up, maintain, migrate and manage Windows based servers with IIS for application hosting. Candidate will be coordinating with business groups and assisting in project planning. We are looking for someone who is reliable, who has sense of reliability and takes pride in his work. This is not a mediocre shopping cart development job but an end-to-end infrastructure development that includes, purchasing, fulfillment, inventory control, third-party API integration as well as third-party applications. Applicants will be required to have experience in development of front and backend applications in eCommerce, eProcurement and Fulfillment. Our current applications are written in ASP. Candidate should be able to either continue writing in ASP and/or migrate to .Net and/or write new applications in .Net, which will work within the existing infrastructure ina seamless manner.

Developer's time will be spent as follows:

Development Time: 60%
Architecture Time: 15%
Maintenance Time: 15%
Business Analysis: 10%

Requirement Overview:

We need a Developer who will be programming, developing and maintaining web enabled applications based on eCommerce and web hosting. The Developers must be comfortable with using ASP, Visual Basic.Net, ASP.Net, web development tools, and other object-oriented programming. Candidates should be a mid to senior level with a minimum of 3 years of solid Visual Basic 6.0 and ASP experience. Experience using SQL and SQL 2000 Server is required. Other preferred experience includes: XML and VBScript. Supply chain industry/application experience is a plus. Other requirements include strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Essential Functions:

1. Builds applications using Internet and Windows development tools.
2. Provides written design documents.
3. Develops, integrates and implements related applications components including front-end development, server-side development and database integration.
4. Programs, maintains, documents and administers applications; provides technical support.
5. Communicates task status to manage cost and ensure continuity of applications.
6. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Application Information:

This is a full ecommerce application that includes a sales and marketing front-end, automatic order-entry and automated fulfillment. The application has some unique twists not being addressed in the current industry. The foundation of the system is incomplete, therefore servicing of the current modules along with analysis and design to complete new modules are required. There is some documentation, but most of the job requirements will have to be communicated in meetings. Documentation is a major issue and will be addressed going forward.


Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:

The ideal candidate would have at least 5 – 7 years of programming experience in Information Technology with in-depth experience in designing and developing web applications, be a well-rounded developer who can also perform analysis tasks and testing as well. The individual must be a self-starter with excellent communication and problem solving skills. Experience with Microsoft Development platform and the following technologies is required - .NET framework technology, VB.NET, ASP.NET, ASP, COM+, MS SQL Server and XML. Must also have experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design techniques and Development practice.
