ASP Developer for School Software Project

I am looking for an ASP developer to help me create a school management system.


Today, most schools are faced with budget deficits. I would like to help them out by building software that schools can use for no cost.

I am looking to write this in a combination of ASP and Visual Studio.

This will be offered free of charge to schools, therefore, this is a volunteer position. If you are interested, please contact me.

We will be using Visual Basic for the main interface, and we will use ASP.NET for the web interface.

I should add that the company will be non-profit, so the developer won't be working hard while i'm getting all the money.

LOL, good luck finding a candidate to "volunteer" their skills. I would assume you plan on making money through advertisments or from eventually selling the software. Nobody creates something for the "fun" of it.

eventually with time, yes we will start making money, and most of that will go to this developer. The developer should only be working for free for a little while.

you have to add "naivety" as required skills from the programmer.

LOL! Sounds like a scam to me.... only a sucker would take this offer. You do realize, that when starting up a business, you need upfront capital to finance your business, right? Yep, that means getting cash to pay a developer upfront. Good luck!!!!!

It is not a scam. It is an OPEN SOURCE project, nothing costs money. If no one is interested, then fine. This project has potential to expand and grow into a commercial product. My target audience for this was a developer that is in the process of learning the trade.

Um, you probabaly don't want a n00b to build this application that you intend to make money off of!!

As shem hinted too...If you are looking for a "beginner" to create this application, then it probably wouldn't be a very good application to begin with...

Professional apps are created by professional developers...and professional developers get paid for their skills...

Its ok for the software to be a little bit of low quality. This software is going to be free. It can improve as the developer improves. Look, if you guys are just gonna keep complaining, please don't bother replying unless your willing to help out. I posted a request for a developer, not complaints .

I don't consider anything that has been said as "complaints", they're just our opinions...You must realize we are professional software developers, we take time out of our day to answer questions on this forum for others.

As professional developers, we appreciate the "art" of software development. We appreciate the time and skill required to create software...and it's somewhat an insult to us for you to come on here and request an application be developed for free, with the understanding that is will be poor quality...

We take pride in what we do and the things we develop and we find it offensive that others, who obviously do not understand the process, expect someone to throw something together just to make a buck.

I understand the process of developing. I develop in PHP though. I don't know a lot of ASP, which is why I am asking for help on this project.

Why don't you develop it yourself in php then rather than getting some poor sod to put their free time into using a language you cant use yourself?
