Project title: ILM Virtual Office 2000 <br />(www.ilm.net.pk)<br />Client : Institute of Leadership and Management Lahore<br />Duration : from- Jan. 2000 to- till date<br />Description: ILM is a big institute of Pakistan. It has more than five campuses and exact five faculties.<br />It has a number of managers and faculty members. It was needed to make such arrangements with which they can offer their official responsibilities with minimum overhead. So a web based Office system is build for ilm's employees. All officials of ILM are ILM Virtual Office's members. They can perform all official responsibilities on their computer. A lot of components are build to make Virtual Office work. These components are described as follows:<br /> Email System : All ILM employees have their email like (name@ilm.net.pk) and have web based email system on Virtual Office.<br /> Memo System : A complete memo system is the part of ILM Virtual Office. Employees can send memos to different departments and can receive as well. Without a second's delay recipients not only receive the memo but also get online trigger for arrival of memo.<br /> Attendance System: Office members' can fill attendance form. To make attendance record correct, only departmental heads are allowed to confirm their as well as their subordinates' attendance.<br /> Diary, Address Book, Discussion Forum: Office members are given access to these different but common purpose utilities. They can maintain their online diary. They can make their online address book. A general discussion Form is also provided to discuss different matters, problems and other affairs with other members online.<br /> Calendar, Cash Summary, Project Summary: Different online facilities are provided to regulate day to day affairs. Calendar is provided to make track of meetings, appointments etc. On the specified time Calendar trigger the online message as well as email message to the member. <br />Cash summary and Project Summary is online tracking of given tasks and achievements. Any higher authority can check the Cash detail and project status of its subordinates.<br /> Open Chat Rooms / Private Conference Rooms: Entirely open chat room is provided for open discussion. Private Chat rooms are also provided to hold departmental or inter-department meetings. It has strict security. Only authorized members can join Private Conference Room.<br /> Current Affairs Bibliography/Library Book Search: ILM's whole research work done with the struggle and hardworking of 10 years are now online for it's Virtual Office members. It includes Current Affairs Bibliography, a database consist of more than a dozen topics and more than 1.5 million records, and more than 30 thousands of library books.<br /> Advisor's Desk: For students' Advisors a Advisor Desk is provided. In this desk Online Progress Reports/ Online Course Registration and a Virtual Advisor are provided. Virtual Advisor is a smart program which looks up the student's previous academic record and suggest him/her to select proper courses for current trimester.<br />Architecture: 3-tier web-enabled application with ASP at front end, COM Objects at the middle tier (holding business logic) and SQL Server 7.0 as back-end database server.<br />Software used: Visual Basic 6.0 (for client and server socket programming), IIS-ASP, SQL Server 7.0, JDK 1.1.5 (for client side socket programming), Java Script, VB Script, Visual Interdev<br />Role: Designer & Programmer<br />Responsibilities: Project management according to project plan, handling matter related to project Architecture & Design under supervision of Manager MIS. I also designed and implemented the database on back end DB server.<br /><br />2. Project title: ILM Junction<br />Client: Institute of Leadership and Management Lahore<br />Duration : from- Mar. 2000 to- till date<br />Description: This is desktop chat software. In fact it is a supplement of ILM Virtual Office. It has two parts. One is client side software and other is Server. It provides full connectivity of ILM's Virtual Office members to server. Here client can join any discussion room, meeting room or can create a new discussion room. Its main feature is to provide secure meeting rooms. Only authorized users can join it. Virtual Office's all online triggers are activated by ILM Junction. For example, memo trigger, email trigger, birthday trigger and appointment/calendar trigger.<br />Architecture: Desktop application in VB 6.0 using Winsock TCP/IP protocols as communication protocols.<br />Software used: Visual Basic 6.0<br />Role: Programmer<br />Responsibilities: To program it and to make it functional under the supervision of manager MIS.<br /><br /><br /><br />3. HTML pages are very well built with Java Script and Java Applets for cool interface to clients. It includes Guest Book, Leader's Forum, ILM News, Admission Form, and Participant's (students) online counciling.<br />Architecture: web application with HTML and Java Script at front end and Perl and CGI at server end.<br />Software used: CGI, Perl 5.0, HTML (using Frontpage98), Java Script<br />Role: Designer and Programmer<br />Responsibilities: Project management according to project plan, handling matter related to project Architecture & Design under supervision of Manager MIS.<br /><br /><br />4. Project title: Hospital Management System<br />Client: Department of Computer Science, Punjab University, Lahore<br />Duration : from- August 1998 to- Des 1998<br />Description: This Application was developed as a subject assignment. Whole class was arranged as a software house. Different phases of Software development life cycle were completed. For this purpose different teams were arranged, for example a team for development, a team for Quality Assurance, a team for Designing etc etc. <br />This application was a full fledged hospital management system.
