Outsourcing
hi
I have small piece about outsourcing on my site. http://cubexsystems.net/home/services.htm This will explain how we do it. It is basically the economies of scale that help us. $4 is like Rs200 which when you translate in volme is not bad. Hope it helps. Last edited by asifbiz : February 7th, 2004 at 01:08 AM. |

I too was baffled by the $4 an hour. But it appears that the company is in Pakistan. Perhaps he's not looking to necessarily hire from the US. Even though no developer from the US will work for $4 bucks an hour, perhaps he will find someone in a different place that will find that to be a good deal. Who knows!

They are only paying the equivalent of $4/hr in Pakistan
What is guy is saying is that for only $4/hr for a minimum
project of 80 hours you can HIRE his crack staff of programmers to do your bidding. But when you look at their demo sites, all you see is html based fluffy, puff piece sites. Where is the SQL Server and the Oracle back-ends? Where is the ASP with database interaction, let alone the ASP.NET with SQL or Oracle interaction? Where is the Active as in Active Server Pages action, not this Static HTML candy-*** stuff. Where is the complexity, where is the Beef? Where is a demonstration of skills, complexity and interaction? Not even ONE data input form, or a fill in the blanks and it will send us an ASP based eMail. NOTHING. ZERO. ZILCH. NADA. ZIPPO. NADA. This is just another plot to ruin our economy by lowballing hard working Americans, I think and it stinks. What we do not need is cash flow overseas to countries that do not even police their own terrorists and their own bandits. Keep your money in the USA and hire USA based programmers. In the long run it will be worth it in fact because you have time zone synched and demo servers on this continent and you can sue in court for non-performance or for non delivery. Who ya gonna sue when your Pakistani code never gets delivered or works like doggie-doo? Who ya gonna call? Ghost-busters? Might as well. How about loss of business opportunity because the code delivered does not come close to matching specs? Huh? Then what? Let him show some ASP.NET sites with database interaction and maybe then it would be worth a shot. So far he is all talk and no action. All promises and no delivery. |

Outsourcing
jfbevilauqa
Hi, i really appricate your comments and arguement I just want to point out that links in our profile are those of our clients and not all the end projects that we did for them. And the contractual and Non Disclosure aggrements makes sure we do not list everything. So is the nature of outsourcing and hence the lack of juice, the missign cutting edge code and connectivity. Broadband allow us to move the code across networks to our client side. The way we work is give access to our clients to a project management software. Thru that they can directly control, help monitors task assignment and hours spent. As for the 'terror' bit, its tempting but i must resist and not reply to that. Thing is you have as much the right to a good job/work/business. And if you can profile quality serivce/product competitively it will be yours. But you already know that. Outsourcing is just another business model. Anyone looking for sample of our work, code etc please email us. Regards. Last edited by asifbiz : February 10th, 2004 at 11:33 AM. Reason: correction |

Why do you want to ruin the long term prosects for yourself and other outsourcing companies? You can still command much better hourly rates for outsourced jobs?
$4/hr is like the bottom of the barrel - I am sure your company must be delviering better quality than that. Quote:
