Paid ASP Internship
Originally posted by : Phil Salesses (phil@alllacrosseamerica.com)
Position: ASP Web Developer Intern
Openings: 1 or 2

If you are currently a high school or college student and have excellent ASP Web Development skills, we want you to join us this summer and develop cool new features for our AllLacrosseAmerica.com web site and web sites. We are looking to hire one or two students for these full-time summer internship positions.

Some of the benefits of the internship positions are:

You get paid! Yes...an internship that pays!

Free Lunch (only if you decide not to get paid)! Unlike many internships, you will get free lunch everyday!

Free Lacrosse Gear! Some may even be signed by our columnists if you like!

Your project will NOT be on some obscure backend system like what you would get with some big development company, but instead you will be adding new and exciting feature to our web sites.

You will get to work on a project from start to finish.

Once you complete your project, the new features you create will be used by thousands of people that visit AllLacrosseAmerica.com every day. The bragging rights are yours!

Work with a young team. The average age of our team is 20 years old.

Plenty of local fun. We are just 20 minutes from Washington D.C. and an hour from Baltimore. We are located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, VA...

It sure beats working at Wal-Mart for the summer.

Position Requirements:

You must be well versed in developing ASP applications using Vbscript. For example, you should feel comfortable with developing something like a full-featured web site application from scratch. If you feel that you are at this level, then you are a good candidate.

Obviously you should know HTML like the back of your hand.

You should be able to customize client-side Javascripts. You do not have to know how to code Javascript from scratch but be able to intelligently customize javascript code you grab off the web to do what you want it to do.

You should have a good knowledge of the SQL language and have created either MS Access or MS SQL Server databases before.

Work experience working as a developer for an actual company is NOT required, but always a plus. We do, however, require extensive personal experience working with ASP. For example, if you developed your own ASP applications for your own personal web sites, then you would be a good candidate.

You must be a very efficient worker and enjoy the challenges of developing ASP driven applications.

You must be a high school or college student and have completed at least your freshman year with at least a 2.5 GPA or higher.

You must be willing to live in our area for the summer. We absolutely require that you work in our Alexandria, Virginia office. Living arrangements will be at your own expense, however, we will help you find summer housing.

This is a full-time position (at least 40 hours per week).

You must be a US citizen or green card holder.

How To Apply:
To apply for this position, please email a resume and a cover letter to phil@alllacrosseamerica.com by May 20th, 2002. In your cover letter (or email) you must tell us about all the ASP development you have done in the past and provide us with links to any ASP applications that you have developed that are currently live on the Internet. If you cannot provide us with links (links are preferred), please feel free to zip your ASP application files up and email them to us with your resume and cover letter. (please note: our email anti-virus system removes attachments ending with ".asp" so please make sure you zip your files before you send them)
