ASP code help

I am not very good at programing and Im trying to make a web console to administer a game server. Im trying to make an asp include file that can do the following:
- Check the Server for certain processes and displays an image that links to a page depending on the process running
- If none of the specified proccesses are running on the server display an image and also let you start one of those processes from a drop down menu

I would suggest ASP.NET for this, as it give you much more power over the server. classic ASP need third party components to deal with processes and in ASP.NET you simply have built-in classes and methods for this.
