<edit>Just realised you've not given any indication of the type of application you have, how you're trying to achieve this or what language you're using, so my links may be completely irrelevant</edit>

Try these links.

http://www.fpdf.org This is a PHP component, but an ASP version is also available at the Italian site below. This is useful for the full English reference manual

http://www.aspxnet.it/public/Default.asp?page=58 This site has an ASP version of the component used above. The site is all in Italian but has some examples you can use to get you started.

I'm assuming here that you have a reasonably good understanding of ASP coding etc.

Maybe start with a few simple examples and work up from there.

Hope that helps.

well, with the full version of Acrobat, you can create custom forms that would do as you are asking. It includes form templates too. Also, you can choose to print to pdf file instead of printer. (I do this weekly with the our employees timecards)
