Please give your opinion - Folder or DB?
Please can you give me your opinion on something...What is the best way to deal with user submitted images?
Is it better to store them in the database, or to store them on the server in a folder?

It's better to store them in a folder on the server ... putting them in the database, just bloats the database ...

How would you associate each user with their photograph then though?
Would you add a link into a field in the database?

assuming each user has unique ID, I would create new folder for all the images, and give the user ID as the image name. for example, user having ID of 5 would have image called "5.jpg". this way, no need for extra field in the database.
