self-generating user account

I arrived at this site in my quest for the reason a new user account appeared on my computer out of the blue. It was called asp.net..machine A.I have seen theories that it is connected to an XP update, but have yet to obtain a definitive answer. I am not connected to a network, I am just a simple home user with one computer running XP and connected to the Internet by ADSL using a Netcomm NB1300 modem/router. I would be most obliged if anyone could shed some light. I have deleted the account. Thankyou in hope. Jim.

It's probably an account that is used by .NET. It was probably installed with the .NET framework. An update may have placed it on your system.
